Sisal is an Agave Sisalana plant cultivated mainly in the lands of the Northeastern hinterland and has 100% natural extraction. This fiber is sold in Brazil and to different parts of the world.

The fiber extracted from the field is processed and classified at Sisaex to be sold or used in the process of manufacturing sisal threads and ropes.

Sisaex sells processed sisal fiber used by industries as raw material in different parts of the world and also manufactures sisal yarn and rope products used by end consumers.

SISAEX INDUSTRY TRADE AND EXPORT LTD is a Brazilian company located in Conceição do Coité, in the State of Bahia, Brazil and founded by Mr. Everton Rios de Araújo (father) and Maurício Mota D´Araujo (son). Mr. Everton Rios de Araújo (in memoria) was already a traditional exporter and, having great knowledge of the sisal economy, was a central pillar in the conduct and founding of the company on February 5, 1986. His legacy of suitability, honesty and responsibility gave rise to and grow a strong company whose principle is to honor the philosophy of its creator.

SOCIAL AND ECOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE
Sisal is an important source of income and employment for thousands of people in the Northeast region and, mainly, in the backlands of Bahia, where the largest number of plantations are located. Family work, provided by the cultivation of sisal, still constitutes an important agent of man's attachment to the semi-arid northeastern region, preventing the migration of large population groups to the outskirts of large cities. The weekly extraction of sisal provides a guarantee of income for workers of the countryside all year round. The manual planting, maintenance and harvesting of sisal provides a 100% ecological agricultural culture, for which there is no use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, generating a “clean” product that can replace synthetic fibers in the different segments and helping with conservation of the planet.
